[Black and White Chef] Cooking Maniac’s Restaurant ‘Deepin Ok-Su’

The talk of the town lately has been the show “Black and White Chef,” and though it’s come to an end, one contestant, known for his quirky charm, captured many fans despite not making it to the final round. And now, I’m excited to introduce you to his restaurant!

Introducing Deepin Ok-Su, run by none other than our beloved chef from the show, located in the cozy neighborhood of Oksu-dong, Seoul. Known as a hidden gem for fresh handmade pasta, this place is a must-visit!

🍝 Deepin Ok-Su

  • Address: B1, 194 Dokseodang-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
  • Hours: Tue-Sun 12:00–22:00 (Break: 15:30–18:00, Closed on Mondays)
  • Reservation: CatchTable

  • Phone: 0507-1331-4410

Deepin Ok-Su is about 600 meters from Exit 7 of Oksu Station (Line 3). Be ready for a bit of an uphill walk—if that sounds too tiring, hop in a taxi for a smoother ride.

Now, don’t get confused—the sign isn’t super visible, so it can be tricky to find the first time. Just look for a building that says “Kitchen 24” and head downstairs. The heavy iron door might remind you of a butcher’s freezer, but don’t worry—once inside, the space is surprisingly bright thanks to the large windows and warm wooden decor, which gives it a cozy vibe.

📌 Pro tip: Make sure to book a reservation in advance through CatchTable! Thanks to the popularity of “Black and White Chef,” tables are almost fully booked through November. Walk-ins? Forget about it!

🍽️ Recommended and signature menu

1. Beef Tart 🍴

The Beef Tart is the signature appetizer at Deepin Ok-Su and a must-order! Imagine a crispy tart topped with smoked beef and a mix of ingredients, blending savory, spicy, and crunchy all in one bite. It’s a visual stunner and perfect for whetting your appetite.

Starting this summer, they’ve also introduced a Tuna Tart with minari pesto, yuzu ponzu, and clam caviar. Both versions are sure to make your taste buds dance! 😋

2. Burrata Cheese 🧀

This dish is all about that fresh, creamy burrata goodness! The soft, melt-in-your-mouth burrata pairs perfectly with crisp veggies, fruits, and a drizzle of balsamic, giving you that perfect balance of rich and tangy flavors. It’s the ideal light appetizer to kickstart your meal, and trust me, it goes so well with a glass of wine. Whether you’re a cheese lover or just looking for something light, this one’s a must-try!

3. Gnocchi 🥘

A fan favorite, the gnocchi is served with pumpkin purée and crispy potato gnocchi, creating a delightful contrast of textures—crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. The sweet and nutty pumpkin sauce ties it all together for a flavor experience like no other. 😀

And of course, you can’t skip dessert! Forget heading to a nearby café—end your meal with their Olive Oil Ice Cream. It’s a fusion dessert with vanilla ice cream topped with olive oil and freeze-dried tangerines. I know, olive oil on ice cream sounds strange, but trust me, the creamy richness of the ice cream and the tangy freshness of the tangerine make for an unexpectedly delicious combo! You’ll love the balance of flavors. 😘

They’re amazing at recommending the perfect wine to match your food here! Confident in their wine pairings, they’ll help you find the best bottle to enjoy with your meal—whether you’re into red, white, or something in between. They’ve got it all covered, and believe it or not, some wines even go so well with the ice cream! Definitely a spot where you’ll want to sip and savor every bite.

There are plenty more delicious dishes to explore, so take your time and pick what suits your taste. With its stylish ambiance, friendly service, and creative menu, Deepin Ok-Su is a spot where you can enjoy a relaxed, yet extraordinary dining experience. 🍷🥰
