Hey everyone! 🎉
I recently hit up Itaewon’s hottest spot, Cement Seoul, with my friend over the weekend. This place is buzzing with awesome eateries, and Cement Seoul is a standout with its unique pasta omakase!
What’s Omakase, you ask? It’s a popular trend here in Korea where you leave your meal in the hands of the chef. Whether it’s coffee, sushi, or even bakery items, omakase is the way to go. At Cement Seoul, it’s all about pasta! 🍝 Why is Cement Seoul still thriving in fast-paced Hannam-dong? Let’s find out!
📍
Cement Seoul
The place is true to its name with a super cool cement-themed interior.
There are a couple of 4-person tables and an 8-seat bar
where you can watch the chefs in action.
If you love seeing your food being made, go for the bar seating!
Pricing
Lunch Course: 45,000 KRW
Dinner Course: 85,000 KRW
Evening À la Carte: 18,000-35,000 KRW
The courses change seasonally,
so there’s always something new to try!
I went for the lunch course, and it was such a treat!
The presentation was on point, making me feel like I was having a special day out.
The meal kicked off with walnut soup paired with bread and a cute ankimo tart.
The walnut soup had a fun texture with lotus root chips and
paired perfectly with the savory, nutty bread.
The ankimo tart, made with monkfish liver and yuzu kohlrabi,
came with a tangy yuzu sauce that perked up my taste buds.
Then came three kinds of pasta – truffle pasta, pistachio pasta, and paprika pasta.
As a truffle lover, the fresh truffle pasta was my favorite.
It was creamy and rich, topped generously with Italian summer truffles and Isigny butter.
The aroma was heavenly!
For the main course,
I had the black pork tenderloin with apple and red wine sauce.
You can upgrade to Korean beef ribeye for an extra 15,000 KRW,
but it’s so popular it was already sold out when I visited.
Next time, I’m definitely going for that upgrade!
Finally, the strawberry granita was the perfect ending, refreshing
my palate after the rich pasta and steak courses.
How was my pasta omakase experience at Cement Seoul?
Each dish was explained in detail, and while the portions looked small,
I was pleasantly full by the end. It’s a bit on the pricey side for lunch,
but perfect for birthdays, special occasions, or when you just want to treat yourself.
Definitely worth a visit!
